The colour of grass and leaves. Green is between yellow and blue on the colour spectrum.
Adjective. Used before nouns: 'a green plant', or after verbs: 'the grass is green'. Common collocations: green tea, green card, green light (permission), evergreen.
Green is strongly associated with nature, health, and environmentalism. In traffic lights, green means 'go'. 'Going green' means becoming more environmentally friendly. Green is also associated with luck in Irish culture (shamrocks).
