A white liquid produced by cows (and other animals) that is used as a drink and to make products like cheese, butter, and yoghurt.
Uncountable noun. Do not say 'a milk'. Say 'some milk', 'a glass of milk', 'a litre of milk'. Common collocations: full-fat milk, skimmed milk, milk chocolate, dairy milk.
In Britain, milk is traditionally delivered to homes in glass bottles by a 'milkman'. The phrase 'no use crying over spilt milk' means there is no point worrying about something that has already happened and cannot be fixed.
